Rai is directing this film and the film will feature Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush in lead roles. Apart from these two, Akshay Kumar and Zeeshan Ayub will also appear in the film.

Has started shooting for Anand L Rai's film Atrangi Re. All you need is love and wishes.' The music of this film is composed by AR Rahman and its lyrics have been written by Himanshu Sharma.
Sara Ali Khan has also shared the picture shared by Akshay on his Instagram account, captioning it, she wrote - 'Atrangi Re has become more colourful now! Working with you Akshay Kumar is special and exciting'. The film was supposed to be shot in Varanasi in the month of March but could not happen due to Coronavirus. However, from the month of October, the team has resumed shooting and now the second schedule of the film is being shot in Madurai.
