During a ceremony conducted at the Carthage Palace in Tunis, 27 bilateral agreements were signed in the presence of Tunisian President Kais Saied and his Algerian counterpart Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

"These partnership agreements cover a broad range of topics, including justice, public institutions, communication, media, industry and SMEs, environment, foreign trade, culture, religious affairs, energy, vocational training, fishing, employment, childhood, the elderly, youth, sports, education, and health," the Tunisian presidency said in a statement released on Wednesday.

According to sources, the Tunisian and Algerian presidents expressed agreement on a number of regional and international concerns, including the Libyan issue, during a joint press conference.

According to Saied, the situation in Libya "cannot be stable unless the solution comes from the Libyan people." For his part, the Algerian President stated that his view was similar to that of his Tunisian counterpart, but that he hoped Libya would be free of mercenaries and all foreign forces so that peace could be restored among the various factions. Tebboune paid a two-day official visit to Tunisia on Wednesday, where he discussed measures to improve bilateral ties.
