In view of the rising pollution from vehicles, electric vehicles are the only option in the world as it does not cause pollution. Now the number of plug-in hybrid and all-electric cars in the world surpassed the 3 million mark at the end of 2017. The figure crossed 5 million by the end of 2018 and is believed to reach 13 million by 2020. This is one of the reasons why most car manufacturers are coming with electrification strategy to easily manage the growing demand for electric vehicles.

While many car manufacturers have already shown their electric path. Citroen is still in the middle of commissioning the schemes with its electrification strategy. According to Citroen CEO Linda Jackson, electrification is a much-needed field for the company, as by 2025 all our vehicles will be in the 100 percent electric version or hybrid version. The company is making sure that we have all the hybrid and electric cars ready for our customers in the times to come.

In his statement, Jackson said, "Electrification is important for us and we are in the midst of launching our electrification strategy. That means early next year we will look at the plug-in version of the C5 Aircross SUV. Citroen is thinking for the long term. We are also going to launch a new model next year which will have an electric version," Jackson said. Each car that will be launched from next year will have either an electric version or a hybrid version, which will also have petrol and diesel.
