Amid lockdown and corona crisis, the central government has issued instructions to all departments to exempt pregnant women, people with disabilities and people suffering from illness from coming to office. This information was given by the Union Ministry of Personnel on Tuesday. The Central Government has issued this guideline the next day after getting permission to open office with 50% employees in Lockdown-4. The ministry said that it has been decided that government servants who were already being treated for serious illnesses should be exempted from roster duty as far as possible.

In its statement, the Center has also said that the differently abled and pregnant women should also be exempted from the roster system. On Monday, the ministry asked 50% of its junior employees below the level of deputy secretary to work in the office. The Central Government had issued instructions to come to the office from 50% of its junior employees below the Deputy Secretary level. Earlier, only 33 percent employees of this category were asked to come to office.

Instructions were issued by the government to the Heads of Departments for the presence of officers and employees below the Deputy Secretary level. According to the guidelines, the head of the department will prepare a roster (duty chart) to ensure that 50% of the officers and employees come to the office within a day's interval. There are also instructions from the Ministry of Personnel that 50% of the officers and employees who do not have to come to office one day, should work from home and keep in touch with the office on telephone and other electronic means at all times.
