Battle of tunes intensifying in UP elections

Lucknow: In Uttar Pradesh, a war of tunes has also erupted among political parties who are going for the assembly elections. These parties are resorting to a variety of songs to propagate their policies and to release verbal arrows at opponents. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress, Samajwadi Party (SP) and now Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have also released their theme song for Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. Although songs are often used in the election campaign, the election campaign, which became virtual during the Corona epidemic, has led to a race for voters to settle down through these songs.

The ruling BJP's election songs mention the party's Hindutva pride saga and the government's development work. BJP MPs and Bhojpuri actors Ravi Kishan and Manoj Tiwari are working on these songs. Some songs have also been released. Among them are 'Damru Jab Bajega To Dekhna Nazara Kya Hoga' and 'UP Mai Sab Ba.' There is a song "Jo Ram ko Laye Hai, Hum Unko Laayenge," and "Mandir Banne Laga Hai, Bhagwa rang Chadhne Laga Hai," showcasing the party's Hindutva image and agenda. BJP's state media in-charge Manish Dixit told the media that, 'The Election Commission has banned election rallies and meetings till January 22. In such a situation, BJP is trying to make a place in the hearts and minds of voters through songs. The party will take these songs to every voter through its social media team.'

At the same time, the main opposition party of the state, SP, has also kept many songs in its quiver. Among these, 'Hunkara', 'Janata Pukari Hai' and 'Jai-Jai Samajwad' are on the lips of the supporters of SP. In these songs, an attempt has been made to glorify the work done by the previous government of SP as well as give hope to solve the problems of all sections when it comes to power again.
