Allegations of Digvijay Singh and Son Undermining Congress's Image

Bhopal: Dissatisfaction has surged within the Congress party in Madhya Pradesh after the release of the second list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections. Damodar Yadav, the State Vice President of Congress and Working President of the Backward Class Congress, led his supporters in burning effigies of former Chief Minister and senior party leader Digvijay Singh and his son Jaivardhan in Bhopal. He made serious allegations, claiming that the father and son are conspiring to undermine the Congress and prevent it from remaining a party for the poor and the backward.

Yadav accused the father-son duo of working together to tarnish the image of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. Despite Rahul Gandhi's assertion that rights will be distributed based on population, the two are allegedly hindering this process. In response, Yadav stated that they are setting the Congress on fire, so they should bear the same consequences.

As the State President of the backward class, Yadav had requested 126 Congress tickets, but only received 55. He pointed out that the chairman of the screening committee has familial ties to Digvijay Singh. He criticized the distribution of tickets, as individuals representing communities with a population of less than five lakh received 35 seats, while the backward class, with a population of approximately 3.5 crore in the state, was allocated only 55 seats.

In protest, the Congress leader resigned from the party's primary membership and announced his intention to field candidates on 15 seats in the upcoming assembly elections. When asked about his future plans, Yadav stated that he would reveal them soon. Voting in Madhya Pradesh is scheduled for November 17, with the election results expected on December 3.
