After which the Punjab government's stance on the bill has become clear. Regarding the citizenship bill, Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh has clearly said that CAA law will not be implemented in Punjab. He said that the central government cannot force the implementation of this law. He condemned the statement of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Shivraj Chauhan in Ludhiana on CAA. Chauhan had said that CAA has to be implemented in all circumstances. Amarinder said BJP will have to pay a heavy price for this stubborn and irreconcilable attitude.

In his statement, Captain Amarinder said that when an elected government does not listen to the voice of the people, its fall is certain. He said that BJP's stance on CAA is reaching dangerous fascism which will overwhelm them. He said that he will not implement this divisive law in Punjab. He said, 'You (central government) cannot force us to implement it. Neither I nor the Congress party, like the Sikhs in Pakistan, is against giving citizenship to the minorities suffering in other countries. We are opposed to the CAA because of discrimination against people of certain religions, including Muslims.
Apart from this, on the statement of Shivraj Chauhan, the Captain said that despite demonstrating nationwide rage against the disputed citizenship amendment bill, the BJP government is refusing to accept the unconstitutionality of the law. Please tell that Shivraj Chauhan had said in Ludhiana that this law will have to be implemented in every situation. To this, the Captain said that Chauhan is not aware of the bad effects of CAA like other BJP leaders nor does he want to know about it. Chauhan has no idea what he is saying nor has he bothered to study this law.
