New Delhi: Amidst the coronavirus epidemic, there is good news for the devotees of Baba Barfani. This year too, preparations are being made to start the annual Amarnath Yatra. However, this time the Amarnath Yatra will last only a very few days. Earlier, there was speculation about the running of Amarnath Yatra due to Coronavirus, but now the government has indicated that Amarnath Yatra will be started this year too.

For the last two-three days, high level meetings are being held for the preparations for the Amarnath Yatra. On Thursday, a high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner of Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, during which various departments were instructed to speed up the preparations for the Amarnath Yatra. The Tourism Department, Health Department and Jammu Municipal Corporation have been instructed to make preparations for the Amarnath Yatra at the earliest. Director of Tourism Department of Jammu, Raj Kumar Katoch said that after July 20, Amarnath Yatra can be started.

Due to the Corona crisis, the Yatri Niwas Bhavan, the base camp of the Amarnath Yatra in Jammu, was converted into a quarantine center, which will now be prepared for devotees. The administration has instructed to completely sanitize the Yatri Niwas Bhawan and make the pilgrim habitable. Giving information, Purnia Sharma, deputy mayor of Jammu City, said that the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has been ordered to sanitize and clean the Yatri Niwas building. Our employees will be on duty for 24 hours till the conclusion of the Amarnath pilgrimage.
