Amazon India, a leading e-commerce venture, has tied up with Future Group to expand its retail business in India. According to the statement issued by the company, Future Retail Limited and Amazon India have entered into two agreements. The 2 companies have signed the deal keeping in mind the grocery, fashion, and footwear businesses. This announcement by Amazon can see tremendous price war in the retail sector of the country as recently Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries has launched a new e-commerce JioMart.

The deal will allow Kishore Biyani-led Future Group to use Amazon's online platform. On the other hand, Amazon's presence in the Indian market may be stronger. Earlier, Amazon India had agreed to buy a 49% stake in Future Group. Through the new agreement, Amazon India's online platform will be an authorized partner of Future Group's retail stores. Future Group will ensure the availability of its products at the Amazon India marketplace under this agreement. It is worth mentioning that currently 35 million customers footfall at the Future Retail Store.

Given the strong network of Reliance Retail, it is expected that JioMart, Amazon, and Walmart-Flipkart may get a tough competition in the coming times.
