United Nations: The US has formally given the notice to withdraw from the Paris Agreement, which was designed to fight climate change. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced on Monday that the US has sent information to the United Nations to begin a year-long process to end Washington's participation in the climate deal.
After China, America is the second-largest producer of carbon dioxide gas which is responsible for global warming. Americans are the world's largest polluter and are responsible for emitting 15.3 tons of gas each.
Pompeo said, "President Trump decided to withdraw from the Paris Agreement because of the economic burden imposed on American workers, businesses and taxpayers in the agreement reached by the US." The third anniversary of the Paris Agreement was on Monday, which was implemented after the approval of the required number of countries.
