Washington: The US has banned Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), taking major action on Pakistan. The US Department of Transportation has said that we have changed the decision to allow Pakistani International Airlines (PIA). Under this, the PIA could operate charter flights in the US. But now they have been banned.
The US has spoken about the concerns of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) about the certification of Pakistani pilots behind this decision. Pakistan has already banned many of its pilots. Last month Pakistan removed its third pilot due to fake license. The European Union Aviation Safety Agency has suspended the authorization of the PIA. This ban has been imposed for 6 months.
Pakistan's local media has confirmed the US ban on PIA. The PIA said that it will work on the necessary reforms needed for the airlines. Pakistan started the investigation of pilots whose licenses and qualifications were fake after a plane crash. A PIA jet crashed in May this year. 97 passengers died in the plane crash.
