Kolkata: West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) Mamata Banerjee has accused the Centre of misusing central agencies. She has also urged non-BJP leaders to unite. According to the report, she has written to chief ministers of several states to unite against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Apart from this, Mamata has also called a meeting regarding the action of the agencies.
Due to the Birbhum violence, the political mercury in Bengal has gone up. While the CBI is investigating the case of burning alive of eight people in Birbhum, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is investigating against Mamata's nephew Abhishek Banerjee over the coal scam. Mamata did not want the Birbhum violence to be probed by the Bengal police to the central agency CBI but had to agree after the Calcutta High Court's order. In such a situation, now Mamata Banerjee is accusing the central government of misusing agencies.
According to media reports, Mamata said the opposition should unite to hold the ruling government accountable. "As an opposition party, it is our constitutional responsibility to hold this government accountable for its actions and oppose suppressing the voice of dissent. I appeal to everyone to come together for the meeting, as per convenience at one place, so that the way forward is considered. It is the need of the hour that all the progressive forces of this country come together and fight this oppressive force.''
