Gandhinagar: Home Minister Amit Shah embarks on a 2-day visit to Gandhinagar on Saturday, March 18, to attend various public events. He is expected to attend a host of programmes, including a dairy industry convention, the convocation of two universities, and also offer prayers at the Somnath temple.
Shah will attend a number of public events during his two-day visit to Gujarat, which begins on Saturday.
Later, at Circuit House in Gandhinagar, the Home Minister will attend a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA).
Shah will next inaugurate Nardipur Pond, lay the foundation stone for other development projects at Vasan Pond and Kalol, and begin a free food drive at Gandhinagar's Civil Hospital in the late afternoon.
Later, at the MS University Convocation Grounds in Vadodara, he will attend the Maharaja Sayajirao University convocation.
The Home Minister will dedicate the APMC Kisan Bhawan in the agricultural camp at APMC Dolatpara in Junagadh and lay the cornerstone for the district bank's headquarters on Sunday.
Later, Shah will offer prayers at the Somnath temple and e-inaugurate a number of construction projects with the release of the Somnath Trust smartphone app.
Observing that India has become a fast-growing economy today, the union minister said it is our responsibility to keep the country's institutions, ports, mines and airports safe. He also said there are several challenges facing the country today, such as counterfeit currency trade, infiltration and narcotics, and with a bright history, CISF has secured the country.
