Bangalore: Union home minister Amit Shah on Friday inaugurated the state-of-the-art Integrated Command & Control Centre at the police commissioner's office at Bangalore as part of the Centre-sponsored Safe City project. Bangalore police have installed about 6,300 fixed surveillance cameras under the project.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the work of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government, calling the "Safe City Project" a state-of-the-art security system for preventing and investigating crimes while also assuring effective surveillance of public areas.
Speaking on Friday at the Bangalore"Safe City Project" launch, Shah stated, "Modern safety and security require much more than just enforcement, as our administration at the Center is aware. A cutting-edge security system called the "Safe City Project" is now being tested in Bangalore with the goal of preventing and solving crimes while maintaining surveillance at important public facilities."
Shah said that the project tagets to make the country's police the best in the world. The Union Home Minister referred to Bangalore as a "Tech City" and said that the "Safe City Initiative" will equip the police to handle contemporary security concerns.
This project would equip the police to meet the evolving security challenges of the future. In Bangalore, which is often referred to as the "Tech City," criminals also use technology to elude capture. So, the police must be prepared and keep up with criminals at all times "Shah said.
This technical set-up will make certain live feed to the command centre and police stations. The Union minister also flagged off around 50 Emergency Response Support System vehicles at Town Hall.
