BANGALORE: Union Minister for Home and Co-operation Amit Shah reached Bangalore in the early hours of Thursday.
Even though he has a packed schedule, he is likely to have lunch with state leaders to discuss hostility of BJP party workers and Hindu activists.
Cabinet aspirants are hoping that Amit Shah will take into account their long-standing request for a larger cabinet during his visit as the Assembly elections draw near.
Amit Shah was greeted at 1.20 a.m. at Bangalore HAL Airport by State Party President Nalin Kumar Kateel, Cabinet Ministers Govind M. Karajol, Dr. C. N. Ashwathnarayan, and others. According to party sources, Shah has come to Karnataka to give a strong message in the backdrop of backlash the party is facing after the killing of BJP Yuva Morcha activist Praveen Kumar Nettare.
CM Bommai has also said that the Yogi Model would be taken into consideration for Karnataka if the necessity arises. Hindu activists are still using social media to campaign against the BJP, and the state government's promise to "initiate strict action" against offenders is being mocked.
Party members and Hindu activists have never reacted in such a hostile manner toward the Karnataka BJP. The message that Amit Shah would deliver to CM Bommai during the unofficial lunch meeting is one that the party workers and Hindu organisations are anticipating.
Amit Shah will attend the "Sankalp Siddhi" convention held at the Hotel Taj West End. Later in the day, he will visit Mother Diary in Yelahanka, and then he will travel to Bengaluru to the KMF headquarters. He will fly out Thursday night to New Delhi.
