Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Guwahati, Assam today to attend the 68th plenary session of North Eastern Council. During this, Amit Shah said that our government will not tease Section 371 giving special status to North East states. Amit Shah has said that, 'Article 371 of the Indian Constitution is a special provision. The BJP government respects Section 371 and it will not be changed in any way. '

Amit Shah said, '“I have clarified in Parliament that this is not going to happen and I am saying it again today in the presence of eight chief ministers of North East that the Centre will not touch Article 371”, 

Amit Shah said, 'I am confident that the development under the leadership of PM Modi will give you a better place. Today 8 CMs are sitting here, they do not even have one from the Congress Party. There has been a decrease in terrorist activities in the North East. The one who puts down the weapon can come along. We have adopted a policy of zero tolerance towards those who have weapons in their hands. By 2022, eight states of the North East will be equipped with the rail facility.
