New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday responded to Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi's letter asking for an inquiry into the alleged links between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and banned terror outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ). On Thursday, CM Channi had demanded an independent inquiry into the matter from PM Narendra Modi.

In a tweet, Channi wrote, "As CM of Punjab, I urge PM Narendra Modi to conduct a fair inquiry into what Dr Kumar Vishwas has said recently. Politics Aside, the people of Punjab have paid a heavy price while fighting separatism. The PM needs to address the concern of every Punjabi.'' Now Union Home Minister Amit Shah has replied to CM Channi.

In his reply, he wrote, "It is very serious from the point of view of the integrity of the country for a political party to have contact with an anti-national, separatist and banned institution and to seek cooperation in the elections. The agenda of such elements is no different from the agenda of the enemies of the country. It is highly condemnable that such people can go from joining hands with separatists to the extent of breaking up Punjab and the country to get power. On this subject, I assure you that no one will be allowed to play with the unity and integrity of the country. The Government of India has taken it very seriously and I myself will look into the matter in depth.''

What did Kumar Vishwas say?

Let us inform that Kumar Vishwas had said, 'He (Kejriwal) has spoken such terrible things to me, which is known to everyone in Punjab. One day when I talked to him about the 2020 referendum, he said don't worry, one day I will either become the Chief Minister of an independent state or the first Prime Minister of an independent nation (Khalistan). When I told him that this referendum is being funded by the Pakistani agency ISI to separatist elements from all over the world, he told me you don't worry, everything will happen.'
