Mumbai: The BJP seemed to be distancing itself from the ongoing political battle in Maharashtra till last evening, but now the party seems to be coming out in the open. In the evening, former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis had met Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and demanded a floor test. Following his letter, a majority test order was also issued by the Governor on June 30. The entire development started only after a meeting of Home Minister Amit Shah and Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday afternoon in Delhi.

In such a situation, it is believed that Amit Shah has also jumped into the power struggle of Maharashtra and only after consulting him, Devendra Fadnavis has become super active. It is reported that several eminent lawyers, including Mahesh Jethmalani, were also present during the meeting between Amit Shah and Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday. Sources said that the meeting discussed the formation of the government and legal options.

BJP sources said, during this period, it also came to the fore what will happen if the majority test is challenged in the Supreme Court. The BJP had already hinted at forming the government along with rebel Shiv Sena leaders and independents. The issue was discussed between Amit Shah and Devendra Fadnavis for nearly two hours.
