BENGALURU: Union Home and Co-operation Minister Amit Shah said here on Friday that Karnataka is the only state in the country to set up an exclusive bank for milk producers.

"Karnataka's cooperative movement is among the most successful in the country," Shah said after unveiling the cooperative bank's logo.

Karnataka is ranked first among the states that have had success in the cooperative sector. The success of Karnataka's cooperative movement will be inscribed in gold letters. I am optimistic that the state's cooperative movement will reach every village." The minister went on to say that establishing the Ksheera Samridhi Bank would help with rural development.

"Through the distribution of credit cards to milk producers, farmers would be made Aatmanirbhar. In every village in the state, the cooperative sector would be strengthened." sai shah.
