Amit Shah hit out at Shiv Sena 'we don't do politics in closed rooms'

Mumbai: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had not promised to give the post of Chief Minister to its erstwhile ally Shiv Sena after the 2019 assembly elections. Not only this but he also said that, 'criticizing Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), termed Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray as a liar'. Apart from this, he also rejected Shiv Sena's claim that he was secretly given this assurance.

Yesterday, Amit Shah said in a statement that, ?I was the BJP President at that time. We do not lie. We did not give any such assurance. They may be claiming that we promised in closed rooms, but I do not do anything in private. I do everything in public."

Apart from this, he also hit back at Uddhav Thackeray in his statement. He asked, ''Why did Uddhav Thackeray not object to the BJP-Shiv Sena joint campaign. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pictures were posted on the election posters. The elections were contested under the leadership of Modiji and the then Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Uddhav was also there in those rallies where either I or Modiji were present. But, on no occasion did he raise the issue of CM post.'' Apart from this, he also described the government of Maharashtra's Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party and Congress-aligned government as 'autorickshaw government' and said that 'every wheel of this is going in different directions.'
