Amit Shah to hold Western Zonal Council meeting today

New Delhi: A meeting of the Western Zonal Council, chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, is held today to discuss a wide range of issues, including those related to the border, security, and infrastructure such as roads, transport, industries, water, and power.

Chief Ministers from Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Goa and administrators from Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, are expected to attend the conference. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the summit will be convened after a two-year hiatus.

According to a top government official, the Home Minister will be apprised about the details related to border issues between the concerned states, security-related matters, law and order, infrastructures such as roads, transportation, industries, water, and power.

Officials from all of the participating states will make presentations to the Home Minister during the nearly two-hour meeting, and the conference's outcome will be implemented for improved coordination and work, according to the official.
