Amit Shah to inaugurate police science congress in Bhopal tomorrow

Bhopal: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the Bureau of Police Research and Development's (BPR&D) 48th All India Police Science Congress (AIPSC), on Friday, April 22.

BPR&D, the two-day event would be held at the Central Academy of Police Training (CAPT) in Bhopal, said  Anupama Nilekar Chandra, director of Research and Correctional Administration. "The major goal of this important national event is to give a shared forum for diverse police forces, units, social scientists, forensic experts, and other stakeholders to discuss selected topics of current relevance to the Indian police," she said.

For the first time, police forces, units, social scientists, forensic experts, and stakeholders, as well as personnel from the Department of Correctional Administration, will attend the AIPSC, said Chandra.

The papers will be deliberated on policing in pandemic times – the need for a protocol; police investigation – investigator skill and forensic technology; law and order processes – human skill and forensic technology; human resource management and wellness – leadership mentoring and mental health stress management; Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) related; and prison processes and good practises, she said.

The conference is scheduled to draw over 100 attendees and 20 presenters from states, union territories, CAPFs, Central Police Organizations (CPOs), prisons and penal administration, forensic science laboratories, and various colleges, according to the official. The AIPSC's valedictory session will be chaired by Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel on Saturday, she said.
