New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Thursday that terrorism is the most serious form of human rights violation, and that it is critical to eradicating the threat in order to defend people's rights.

Shah said the charges recorded against terror funding in Jammu and Kashmir have helped to a large extent in reducing terrorism in the union territory, speaking at the National Investigation Agency's (NIA) 13th foundation day here.

"I don't believe there is a greater serious violation of human rights than terrorism." Terrorism is the most serious infringement of human rights. To defend human rights, it is vitally necessary to eradicate terrorism," he stated. He stated that the Narendra Modi government has a zero-tolerance attitude toward terrorism and is aiming to eradicate the threat from India.

According to Shah, providing cash for terror acts in Jammu and Kashmir has become extremely tough as a result of the NIA's terror-funding cases. The home minister also praised the NIA for taking harsh measures against terror groups' overground workers in Jammu and Kashmir, disrupting their logistical and supply linkages.
