Imphal: The violence that started in Manipur on May 3 is yet to stop. Curfew was relaxed in many places, but again in view of violent incidents, the army has been deployed in the areas. Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Manipur on Monday evening on a three-day visit. The Biren Singh government has claimed that 25 people have been arrested ahead of Amit Shah's visit to the state, who were conspiring to spoil the atmosphere of the state. Shah will be in Manipur till June 1.  

Amit Shah will attend the Manipur Cabinet meeting on Tuesday. After this, he will go to the hospital to know the condition of those injured in the violence. He will also hold security-related meetings to improve the situation in the state. Amit Shah is also scheduled to talk to several civil society groups to stop the violence. This may include representatives of both the Kuki and Maitei communities.  

On Sunday (May 29), CM N Biren Singh had claimed that 33 militants had been killed. The state government had warned that strict action would be taken against any person or group, whether from Manipur or outside, spreading rumours and trying to incite violence. The Manipur government is also monitoring the social platform.
