New Delhi: In the Upper House of Parliament, Home Minister Amit Shah responded to the opposition's allegations about the NRC. Responding to the questions of MPs, he said that people of any religion need not be afraid of this. Making a big announcement, Amit Shah has said that citizenship identification will be ensured on the basis of NRC and NRC will be implemented across the country.

He dismissed the possibility of bias in NRC on the basis of religion and said that this is a process whereby all the citizens of the country can join the NRC list. There is no such provision in the NRC, on the basis of which it is said that people of a particular religion will not be given a place in it. Amit Shah further said that all citizens, irrespective of their religion, can join the NRC list.

He said that NRC is a separate process and the Citizenship Amendment Bill is another process. It cannot be put together. In response to the question of Syed Nasir Hussain, the Union Home Minister said that Hindu, Buddha, Sikh, Jain, Christian, Parsi refugees will be given citizenship of India. For this, the Citizenship Amendment Bill is separate, so that these refugees can be given citizenship. Because they had to fall prey to religion on the basis of religion in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.
