JERUSALEM: At least three Palestinians were killed Thursday after Israeli security forces raided a village in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, Palestinian officials said.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli army regarding the raid in Jaba village, south of the restive city of Jenin.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health did not release the names of the dead, but said they were killed by Israeli fire during a military operation.

An emerging militant group of disillusioned young Palestinians taking up arms against Israel's ongoing occupation, now in its 56th year, has been based in Jaba village for the past few months.

The group is part of a larger trend of newly formed armed groups in the West Bank that have opposed the Palestinian Authority, are becoming less and less popular, and claim that they have no affiliation with any particular political party.

Violence has escalated in the West Bank over the past two months.
