The State government had agreed on 7.5% reservation, which will be allocated as per the recommendation of a committee headed by a retired judge. With the new demand, it would be a long process for the Governor to decide. However, the fresh request to the Governor will be accepted or not has to be seen. KR Nandhakumar, leader of Tamil Nadu Matriculation, Higher Secondary and CBSE Schools Association claimed the “special reservation” being given for Tamil medium students from government schools is unfair, written a letter to the Governor.

57.44% of TN NEET aspirants cleared NEET 2020, one in Top 10

The state head asked why not all Tamil medium schools be included. Nandhakumar, BJP functionary has said the letter to Governor has nothing to do with the party as it was sent on the behalf of private schools alone. The medical admissions for the 15% all India Quota starts on October 27, the TN government schools are eagerly waiting for the Governor’s assent before the counselling for State quota is announced.
