Andhra CM Launches 100 Desludging Vehicles, Unveils MSME Projects Worth Crores

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, launched a significant initiative by flagging off a fleet of 100 state-of-the-art vacuum suction-based desludging vehicles from his headquarters in Amaravati. These vehicles mark a milestone in the state's commitment to efficient sanitation practices and were distributed to deserving beneficiaries chosen by the Swachh Andhra Corporation as part of the Swachhta Udyami Yojana scheme, as outlined in an official statement.

The event witnessed the presence of Social Welfare Minister Meruga Nagarjuna, Rajya Sabha member V Vijaysai Reddy, and other dignitaries who participated in this notable ceremony alongside the Chief Minister.

In a parallel development, CM Jagan Mohan Reddy also spearheaded the inauguration and commencement of 21 MSME (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises) projects valued at Rs 286 crore. These ventures hold the promise of attracting investments worth Rs 1,782 crore, significantly contributing to the creation of a whopping 18,034 employment opportunities in the state.

Speaking to potential investors and stakeholders in the industry and food processing sectors, the Chief Minister emphasized, "Today, we mark the commencement of three out of nine projects and lay the foundation stones for six others. These ventures, collectively investing Rs. 1,072 crores, are set to generate considerable employment for 21,079 individuals."

Highlighting the government's proactive measures to support the MSME sector, CM Reddy added, "We've implemented unparalleled strategies to fortify the MSMEs, ensuring their resilience even during the adversities brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. Presently, 1.88 lakh new MSME units have been established, generating 12.62 lakh job opportunities—a testament to our collective efforts. Additionally, I'm pleased to announce upcoming incentives for the MSME sector in February 2024."
