Andhra CM meets Gadkari, talks about ongoing developmental projects in the state

New Delhi: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in the national capital on Wednesday to examine the status of current development projects in Andhra Pradesh.

According to the official statement, the Chief Minister requested that the Union Minister support the Visakhapatnam-Bhogapuram beach corridor project in order to improve connectivity and boost tourism, and that officials are working on better plans for the project as directed by the Union Minister during his recent visit to the state.

Reddy stated that work on the western bypass in Vijayawada is progressing quickly, and he requested the Union Minister to take steps to connect this route to the CRDA grid road.

He said the state government has identified lands and is willing to give them for a Multi-Model Logistic Park related to the Vijayawada western bypass, and he asked the Union Minister to assist in preparing the DPR and moving forward in this regard, as well as to take measures to prepare the DPR and expedite the Vijayawada eastern bypass works.

The Chief Minister announced that the Central Transportation Department has approved 20 ROBs for the state and sought the Union Minister to approve another 17 ROBs.

The Chief Minister has urged that the Union Minister take steps to create 1,723 kilometres of national highways connecting the state's various tourist hotspots, industrial nodes, and special economic zones, as well as roadways connecting the newly constituted districts' centres.

The state tourism department has submitted proposals for the construction of 14 ropeways across the state, two of which have been accepted, according to the Chief Minister, who has asked the Union Minister to approve the remaining projects.
