Guntur: The cases of monkeypox are increasing continuously in the country. In the midst of all this, many such suspected patients have also come up in which symptoms of monkeypox have been seen. Now the case that has come up recently is from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh. According to the information received in this case, here the symptoms of monkeypox infection have been seen in an eight-year-old child. Yes, and the child has been kept in isolation at the Government General Hospital (GGH). District Medical and Health Officer Dr Soumya Khan said, “It is a suspected case of monkeypox. For confirmation, we have collected the sample and sent it to the National Institute of Virology, Pune and Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad.”

However, till now no report of any kind has come out from both the labs. In this matter, GGH Hospital officials said that only after seeing the report, further action will be taken. However, at present, the suspected infected child is being treated in isolation in a unit dedicated to monkeypox. In this case, the Health Department says that the child is a resident of Odisha, who came to Andhra Pradesh a few days ago. Symptoms have been seen in him a week after coming to the state. So far, four patients with monkeypox have been confirmed in the country. Yes and out of these three patients, one patient in Kerala has been identified in the capital Delhi.

However, the rising numbers have raised the concerns of the government. At the same time, WHO Chief Doctor Tedros says that this virus can be controlled when patients with its symptoms consider their duty and get themselves tested and self-isolated to prevent infection. This will stop the transmission of the virus.
