Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday and discussed issues related to the state. These issues also include allocating pending funds for the Polavaram irrigation project. Reddy and Modi met after eight months amid speculation of the YSR Congress joining the NDA.
Whether or not political issues were discussed during this meeting is not known. According to official sources, in a 40-minute meeting, Reddy discussed pending dues and approvals for various projects such as the Kadapa steel plant. Sources said that CM Reddy urged PM Modi to release the pending revenue grant of Rs 10,000 crore and Rs 3,250 crore for the Polavaram project and the setting up of a High Court in Kurnool district. It is being told that during this time there has also been discussion about Corona in Telangana.
After meeting PM Modi, Reddy will hold talks with Union Water Power Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao on the issue of Krishna Godavari river water sharing through video conference.
