The Andhra Pradesh government has once again extended the night curfew imposed for containment of coronavirus. The government has issued orders extending the curfew, which currently runs from 10 pm to 6 am, till 21 this month. The decision was taken by the state government in the wake of rising coronavirus cases again. However, the government states that covid protocols must be followed. 

Meanwhile, The state reported 1,746 fresh cases, 1,648 recoveries and 20 Covid-19 deaths. Active coronavirus increased by 349 in the last two days in Andhra Pradesh as fresh cases of infection have been outnumbering recoveries. In the 24 hours ending 9am on Friday, the state reported 1,746 fresh cases, 1,648 recoveries and 20 Covid-19 deaths. Consequently, the number of active cases increased to 18,766, an increase of 78 over the previous day, according to the latest bulletin. The total positive cases reached 19,90,656, recoveries 19,58,275 and deaths 13,615, the bulletin said.

The two Godavari districts, East and West, reported the highest of 304 and 261 fresh cases respectively, followed by SPS Nellore 236, Chittoor 203, Guntur 160, Krishna 125, Visakhapatnam 115 and Prakasam 106 in 24 hours. Srikakulam added 91 and Kadapa 78 while the remaining three districts logged less than 30 new cases each. Chittoor and Visakhapatnam reported four fresh fatalities, SPS Nellore three, East Godavari, Krishna and Srikakulam two each, Anantapuramu, Guntur and West Godavari one each in a day.
