Andhra Pradesh Police rescues a pregnant woman through Disha App

Chirala: Andhra Pradesh has recently conducted a long campaign in the district to educate women about the importance and usage of Disha app and they are participating in the calls received on SOS. On Thursday night, the police control room received an SOS call from the family of Padma, a 9-month-old pregnant woman of Thotavari Palem, Chirala mandal under Epurpalem police station.

The relatives told that the woman is in labor pain, but there is no vehicle available nearby to take her to the hospital immediately. And there is no ambulance in their vicinity. Police control room staff immediately informed Epurpalem SI Subbarao about the family's agony. He immediately responded and took an auto-rickshaw and sent a constable and home guard to take the woman to the hospital.

The policemen reached the pregnant woman's house within five minutes of the SOS call and she was immediately shifted to the government sector hospital in Chirala. She later gave birth to a healthy baby boy. The family members of the woman thanked the police personnel for bringing the auto and reaching the hospital on time. Epurpalem police also presented a baby kit to the woman and advised her to take care. SP Malika Garg appreciated Eipurupalem SI S Subbarao, Constable Gopi Krishna, Home Guard Sambireddy for prompt response. He appealed to everyone to download Disha app in their mobile as it will be very useful in case of danger, crisis or emergency.
