Telangana: Roads submerged by heavy rains, Government declares 2 days off

Hyderabad: Rain is currently wreaking havoc in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This havoc has greatly affected the general public. Heavy rains have flooded the roads and low lying areas. It has also been reported that there have been several incidents due to rain and a total of 11 people have lost their lives in those incidents so far. Under the information received, heavy rains have caused flood situation in Krishna district.

Looking at the situation, the Government of Telangana has announced leave for today and tomorrow with work from home advisory for all private institutions/offices/non-essential services. The Telangana government has advised people to stay in the house unless there is an emergency. Recently, Lok Sabha member from Hyderabad, Asduddin Oram wrote in a tweet, "Nine people have died due to heavy rains for the last two days when a wall collapsed in Mohammadia Hills of Bandlaguda."

In his tweet, he further wrote, "I was inspecting the Mohammadia Hills in Bandlaguda, where 9 people were killed and two others injured in the collapse of the wall. While going from there, I transported the stranded bus passengers to their destination from their vehicle in Shamshpost. Now, I am going to Talabkatta and Yasarab Nagar". Talking about heavy rains on the other hand, a police official said, "Due to heavy rains, some stones were found on the walls of two houses, causing 8 people to die on the spot and 4 others were injured. The injured are being treated". Heavy rain is still continuing and roads have been submerged.
