Finally, the race for being number one is over for Andy Murray. He has replaced existing number 1 Novak Djokovic after winning Paris masters. He has defeated American John Isner with 6-3, 6-7 (4/7), 6-4 in the final. From the beginning of the tournament, speculations were on him being the number one and winning the tournament he has achieved it. Now he will be placed 405 ahead of the Djokovic, which is a good lead and will require a long time to chase for the number 2.

Murray is undefeated from last 19 matches and winning the Paris masters he has made his 8th title of the season. For Isner, it was a chase for the first title of the season. He has appeared in finals of the masters in 2012 and 2013 as well.

"This has been an incredible journey for me to get to the top of the rankings," said Murray.

"I have to congratulate Andy, first for the title, and then for getting to number one in the world," said Isner. "That's an incredible achievement, you absolutely deserve it."

We also congratulate him for the big triumph and wishing all the very best for the career ahead. A much deserving wins for the champion.
