Patna: Recently, the Bihar government has amended the prohibition law. In which those caught drinking alcohol for the first time will be released after paying a fine. The government has increased the amount of fine from 2 thousand to 5 thousand. But in the meantime the government has another condition. You will have to appear before the magistrate after paying the fine. Where an affidavit will be filled. Which will remind you for the rest of your life that you have filled an affidavit. Under which you will have to follow the penal provision of the Bihar government and you will have to think a thousand times before drinking alcohol.

Affidavit will be like this:-

I declare that the news submitted by me is true. I confess that I date while drinking or intoxicated. . . I have been caught. My medical examination or respiratory analysis was done. Which confirmed that I had used alcohol or alcohol. I further declare that I am willing to suffer the punishment imposed by the Magistrate. I also agree to assist with the police/excise authorities in the investigation. I undertake to present myself before the Police/Excise Authorities or Magistrate's Court as and when required. I further declare that I will not repeat the offense and will actively help in the enforcement of complete prohibition of alcohol in the state of Bihar. I am making the appropriate statement of my free will and without fear or pressure.

The same Bihar government always keeps on amending the liquor prohibition law. But the aim of the amendment is to prevent persons from drinking alcohol. In this episode, the Bihar government has brought the affidavit to the fore. So that there is always a moral pressure on the drinker that he has filled an affidavit before the government. According to which he has promised cooperation to the government in future after drinking alcohol. According to the affidavit, the person who consumes the liquor again has to fill an affidavit promising to help the excise officials and the magistrate. Thereafter, if he repeats the mistake, he will have to appear before the administration.
