Banda: In a horrific incident, a woman was being harassed by her husband and in-laws due to dowry issues after which she allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling at her house on Friday in Bhadehu village here.

As per the complaint lodged by the 19-year-old victim’s brother, “she was being harassed by her husband and mother-in-law for dowry. He suspected that the woman's in-laws were demanding a motorcycle from them and since they failed to provide it, they killed their daughter.”

A case has been registered against her husband and mother-in-law and an investigation is underway in this matter.
