Patna: There is another big good news for the people of Bihar. The state may get another expressway. This new expressway will be 600 km long. A large part of the Gorakhpur-Siliguri Expressway will pass through Bihar. The 416 km stretch of Gorakhpur-Siliguri Expressway will pass through 10 cities of north Bihar.
The budget for this new expressway is yet to be fixed. However, speculations are rife that it could cost thousands of crores. The Central Government is constantly engaged in improving connectivity among the states. In the same vein, efforts are being made to connect the state with neighbouring states through High-Speed roads. The Central Government has given in-principle approval to the new expressway. However, tender for the new Greenfield Expressway may be floated after the completion of formalities. After the construction of this expressway, it will be very easy for the people of Bihar to go to UP and West Bengal.
The expressway will pass through 10 cities in north Bihar. The Gorakhpur-Siliguri Expressway will be about 600 km long. Most of this expressway will be in Bihar. The Greenfly Express will pass through Gopalganj, Siwan, Chhapra, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Saharsa, Purnia and Kishanganj districts. About 416 km of the expressway will pass through north Bihar which will promote trade and commerce between Bihar, UP and West Bengal.
