Another case of Black marketing of Remdesivir injection reported from Warangal rural area. Here Geesugonda police have arrested a five-member gang for selling Remdesivir vials at high prices in the black market. Let us tell you that police have seized 42 vials of Remdesivir, Rs 1.69 lakh in cash, a car, a two-wheeler and five cell phones from them.

Here it is to be noted that they were identified as  Chanda Vijay Kumar, a lab technician from Boduppal in Hyderabad, Chintam Rajesh, Urugonda village of  Damera mandal in Warangal Rural district,  Mundati Gopal,  a medical representative of Hanamkonda,  Gattu Avinash, a lab technician of Dharmaram, and  Vavila Suresh, a medical shop owner in Hanmakonda.

According to East Zone DCP Venkatalakshmi,  the accused were purchasing the Remdesivir at MRP from Shamshabad locality and were selling the same in Warangal and surrounding areas at exorbitant prices to those in need.  “They were selling each vial at Rs 28,000. As part of this, the gang members came to Gorrekunta village under Geesugonda police station to sell the vials to a COVID patient. They were waiting at the Kattamallanna temple to hand over the vials to a COVID patient when the police raided the place and found the vials in their possession,” she added.
