New Delhi: The Centre has advised all states and Union Territories to conduct a sero survey in consultation with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to prepare district-level data on the 'seroprevalence' required in preparing public health measures at the local level. Let me tell all of you that recently the Union Health Ministry has made a statement according to which, by Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, all states/UTs have been appointed by the Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan. Additional Chief Secretaries of Union Territories/UTs Principal Secretaries/ Secretaries This is stated in a letter to the Secretaries (Health).

In fact, the Ministry also shared the findings of the recent National Sero Survey conducted by ICMR in 70 districts of the country, according to which the surveyed population in Madhya Pradesh was found to be 79 percent, Maharashtra 58 per cent. In the same vein, Kerala was found to be 44.4 percent, Rajasthan 76.2 percent and Bihar 75.9 percent. Besides, Gujarat had 75.3 percent, Uttar Pradesh 71.0 per cent, Karnataka 69.8 percent, Tamil Nadu 69.2 percent, Odisha 68.1 percent, Punjab 66.5, Telangana 63.1, Assam 50.3 and West Bengal 60.9 percent.

You may tell all that referring to the findings of the 4th round of National Seroprevalence Survey conducted by ICMR, the Ministry has advised states/UTs to conduct seroprevalence studies in their respective areas in consultation with ICMR.
