New Delhi: After the expansion of the Modi cabinet, ministers who have now got new responsibilities have begun to take charge. About 40 new ministers have been sworn in the past day, while many ministers have been promoted and portfolios of many ministers have been changed. Ministers have started taking charge since Thursday morning.

The country's new Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav took over the ministry on Thursday morning, replacing Piyush Goyal. On the other hand, promotional Anurag Thakur took over as the Information Broadcasting Ministry, which has been replaced by Prakash Javadekar. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda is meeting all the new ministers today. JP Nadda's meeting with new BJP ministers who joined the Union Cabinet began at 10.30 am. Several ministers including Bhupendra Yadav have reached JP Nadda's residence.

State that the total number of ministers in the Union Cabinet has now reached 77, as per the rule, these numbers could reach 81. About a dozen ministers have also resigned from their posts the previous day.
