Legendary Actor Dilip Kumar breathed his last in Mumbai on 7th July 2021. Tributes pour in from all around the world for the first superstar of Indian Cinema. Dilip Kumar's career of almost six-decade comprises many unforgettable movies and iconic dialogue, also the moments that have embraced the Indian silver screen. He has been loved by all and it’s just the end of an era.

Actor Anusheel Chakrabarty paid his heartfelt tribute to the Legend, said it was very heartbreaking for him as early in the morning on Wednesday he saw the message of his passing away. However, he never got a chance to meet him because of the COVID19 lockdown. He wanted to meet him as he was his inspiration and the seed of acting was sowed by watching his movies only. Anusheel grew up watching Dilip Saab's movie since his childhood. Recalling his childhood he said, my mother was fond of old and classic movies I started watching black and white movies, the first movie I watched of Dilip Kumar Ji was "Andaz" which was released in 1949. I was mesmerised by his charm and acting and still two-three days back I watched a clip of that movie and I was thinking about him because of the constant news of his deteriorating health.

His persona was irresistible I watched Mughal-e-Azam at the age of 10 and in my childhood, I finished watching most of his movies. After that, he became my inspiration and I wanted to enact him. I loved the classic melodies featuring him like "Suhana Safar Aur Yeh Mausam Haseen" and Dil Tadap Tadap Ke" from the movie"Madhumati".

Anusheel said he was constantly watching in the news that who are visiting him and then he left for Bandra Pali Hill at 3:00 PM. He reached there at 4:17 there was a car going inside his bungalow and a guard came, he was looking extremely sad and said that everybody has left for the Santacruz crematorium. He rushed for the crematorium but unfortunately, he didn’t get his Antim Darshan. He said that last year on Dilip Ji's birthday there was a COVID19 lockdown due to which he was unable to visit him. His wish of meeting Dilip Ji will remain unfulfilled.

Talking about an incident during his International Karate Championship in Japan when he was having a meal at an Indian restaurant with his students Anusheel said, there was a guy Fromm Pakistan who asked about Yousuf Khan. He came to me and asked do you know Yusuf Khan, he is from my city Peshawar in Pakistan. Then I responded, are you talking about Dilip Kumar? Who doesn’t know him, he is a legend himself I am his biggest fan. This incident was in 2017. You can see people from all around the world loved him.

Anusheel further added, “I have a friend in Peshawar who used to share Dilip Ji’s ancestral home pictures and videos from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. I really wish to visit his ancestral home for once as I have been really fond of him and his legacy.

Dilip Kumar has been the inspiration for many generations and still for many people who love acting. I wish he lived 100 years but God has decided something else, May his soul Rest in Peace. Feeling extremely saddened by his death and for Saira Banu Ji. But I must say, Legends Never Die, he is going to be in our hearts forever.
