Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma is an animal lover and has been spotted many times spending time with animals. She is also involved in several activities aimed at the welfare of animals. The Sui-Dhaaga actor has been planning to open an animal shelter for a while now.

According to the reports, Anushka had bought a land in Dahagaon village of Shahapur taluka, where she is planning to open a veterinary hospital and an animal shelter. But the land was not usable for three years due to certain procedural formalities.

The land acquired by the actress in Dahagaon village of Shahpur taluka, which was agricultural earlier, has recently received an all-clear order from the Thane Collector's office. Even though Anushka had announced plans for the shelter on her birthday in May last year, work on it had already begun in September 2016, when her family had acquired the five acres of land worth Rs 4 crore.

,As per the report of Mid-day, the actress is  also intends to build a bungalow for her parents at the same land in the name of her father Retd. Colonel Ajay Kumar Sharma, who will be taking care of the daily activities of the shelter.

On the workfront, Anushka Sharma was last seen in Zero, which also featured Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.
