Patna: Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Vijay Kumar Sinha denied the allegation of recovery of a huge quantity of liquor from the vicinity of his close relative's house in the Lakhisarai district and demanded an apology from the leaders of the Grand Alliance. Sinha also said that if he does not apologize, he will file a defamation case against Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav, Congress MLA Shakeel Ahmed Khan, and RJD MLA Bhai Virendra. 

He said that the allegations leveled by the leaders of the Grand Alliance, including the Deputy Chief Minister, regarding the recovery of liquor in huge quantities from the vicinity of my close relative's house are baseless. The local police are already probing the matter and one person has also been arrested. Sinha alleged that the arrested person has links with JDU. The BJP leader said that the culprit has no relation with my family members or my relatives. The leaders of the Grand Alliance are only tarnishing my image. I am raising the issue of Saran poisoning deaths and deteriorating law and order in the state, ruling party leaders are making baseless allegations. If they don't apologize, I will file a defamation case against them. Sinha also accused Vidhan Sabha Speaker Awadh Bihari Chowdhary of taking the side of the ruling party. He said that he is behaving like the government. 

In the Bihar Assembly, Congress MLA Shakeel Ahmed alleged the role of Leader of Opposition Vijay Kumar Sinha in the 108 cartoon liquor case recovered in Lakhisarai. Regarding this, he had demanded the speaker to investigate it. Thereafter, the speaker had given permission to the government to conduct an inquiry against the BJP leader. Talking to the media, the Congress MLA said that he saw a media report, which said that 108 cartons of liquor have been recovered from behind the house of a close relative of Leader of the Opposition Vijay Kumar Sinha. I brought this matter to the notice of the Chairman. Vijay Sinha, representing the Lakhisarai constituency, went on a walkout along with other BJP MLAs in protest against the spurious liquor incident in Saran. He was not present in the House.
