By eliminating 3.8 million cars from the road, Apple's Supplier Clean Energy Program reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 17.4 million metric tonnes in 2022.

Apple is also making investments in environmentally friendly ways to reduce atmospheric carbon. Over the past two years, Restore Fund has made investments in forested areas of Brazil and Paraguay. According to the United Nations Climate Change, all of Apple's major product lines now use 70% less energy than they did previously. Utilizing recycled materials allowed the business to reduce its carbon footprint during the manufacturing process. Additionally, the Apple Trade-In program, which allows customers to trade in old devices, contributes to reducing emissions associated with the extraction of raw materials.

Apple avoided more than 23 million metric tonnes of emissions in 2021, according to the company's Environmental Progress report. In comparison to 2015, the carbon footprint was cut by 40%, and packaging used 75% less plastic. By 2025, Apple wants to stop using plastic in its packaging.Apple increased the proportion of cobalt, rare earth elements, and recycled tungsten in its products by twofold in 2021.
