Are you have an eyelid inflammation? It could be Blepharitis
Share:

Blepharitis is a common eyelid inflammation that sometimes is associated with a bacterial eye infection. It can also result from a blocked oil gland on your eyelid, allergies or a hormone imbalance.

Symptoms of Blepharitis:

The eyelids might get red, itchy and a little swollen. You might notice a burning feeling in the eye, dry eyes, blurry vision, crusty eye lashes, feeling like something is in the eye and sensitivity to light.

 Treatment of blepharitis:

There is no cure, but it can be treated and controlled. Just take care of your eyelids. The doctor may advise using a baby shampoo or mild soap. Take a cloth and dip it in the mixture and clean your eyelid. Rub the cloth over your eyelashes and your lids for about 30 seconds to loosen clogged oils. In some cases, antibiotics and medication may help blepharitis caused by a bacterial infection. Eye drops or ointments containing steroids can help control inflammation.

Prevention of blepharitis:

You can prevent blepharitis by keeping your eyelids clean.  Use diluted solution of any baby shampoo to clean your eyelids. Avoid using eyeliner on the back edges of your eyelids behind the lashes and avoid makeup and lenses or anything that irritates your eyes.
