New Delhi: In Tuesday's Deodhar Trophy match between South Zone and Central Zone, Arjun Tendulkar had a respectable bowling performance for South Zone, taking two wickets, including that of experienced batsman Yash Dubey, who was batting at 77.

Arjun, the younger brother of legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, recorded one wicket against North East Zone in his debut game.

On Tuesday, he appeared to be more in control and was able to keep the right line and length to trouble the batters.

Dubey completely mistimed his shot and was caught by Sai Sudharsan for his first wicket. The same pair teamed up once more as Arjun dismissed Shivam Mavi to finish with figures of 2 for 65 runs.

Earlier, Arjun shared a shirtless mirror selfie on the social media site Instagram in which he displayed his six-pack abs.

Star cricketer Virat Kohli set the trend for maintaining a trim physique in the Indian team, and many other players have since followed suit, including KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, and now Arjun.

The BCCI selected Arjun for a 20-day training camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

Arjun, who represents Goa in first-class cricket and made his IPL debut for the Mumbai Indians in the most recent season, was asked to attend the camp, which started in August.

When questioned about the reasoning behind Tendulkar's selection, a BCCI source responded, "Arjun already has a Ranji Trophy century. A left-arm pacer who bowls between early and mid-130 kmph and bats left-handed. He brings in variety."
