New Delhi: On the occasion of Armed Services Flag Day on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the contributions of the Indian armed forces and urged everyone to contribute to their welfare.
"On Military Forces Flag Day, I would like to thank our armed forces once more for their outstanding contributions. Their fortitude and tenacity are admirable. I would also like to encourage you all to donate to the wellbeing of our armed personnel "PM Modi said.
On the occasion, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also expressed his best wishes to the Indian military. "On the occasion of 'Armed Forces Flag Day,' I pay tribute to the Indian Armed Forces' valour and sacrifice. I urge all citizens to observe this month as 'Pride Month,' and to donate generously to the 'Armed Forces Flag Day Fund,' by wearing the flag of the Armed Forces "Singh's tweet.
Every year on December 7, Armed Forces Flag Day, or simply Flag Day, is commemorated across the country. The day is commemorated to remember and honour those who have bravely fought for the country. Soldiers who continue to guard the country's borders are also honoured on this day.
