The Indian Army troops extended helping hand in dousing fire that broke out at Koylabasti and Anini on Thursday night.

The army helped the administration of Anini in the Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh successfully doused the forest fire along the India-China border. Guwahati-based defence spokesperson Lt Col P. Khongsai confirmed the news through twitter. He wrote, “Troops of #SpearCorps, @adgpi assisted Civil Administration, Anini, in Arunachal Pradesh in dousing forest fire, saving precious lives and property.”

The forest fire was broke out at Koylabasti and Anini on Thursday night and the fire soon expanded to the surrounding mountain ridges.
On being approached, three response columns were quickly engaged. It took nearly 11 houses to the Army and the local administration to douse the forest fire. Earlier, on February 7, the Indian Army helped forest authorities in controlling forest fire near Chillipam Monastery in West Kameng of Arunachal Pradesh.
