New Delhi: Army Chief MM Narwane has said that if the conflict is the last resort, and we try, we will emerge victoriously. He said talks with China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) have seen considerable growth in the northern and western regions since last January. However, the partial threat has not diminished after the confrontation. Force has been deployed on our behalf. Necessary security measures are being taken. Necessary infrastructure such as roads, bridges etc. are being constructed.

The Army Chief further said that the number of terrorists has increased at various places. India follows zero tolerance on this matter. He has said that there are clashes at many places in Ladakh. The force has been deployed on our behalf in view of the threat. The 14th round of core commander-level talks with China was held this morning on Chushul-Moldova.

The Indian side was led by Fire and Fury Corps Commander Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta. After a gap of more than three months, India and China have been trying to resolve the military standoff in eastern Ladakh for the past 20 months. The main focus of the talks is reportedly on resolving the Hot Springs area.
